CNIEC XINJIANG CORP, which was founded in 1984 after the approval of the Ministry of the Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation, is a state-owned special foreign trade company with independent legal entity and with the registered capital of RMB27,170,000.00. CNIEC XINJIANG CORP was subordinated to China Non-ferrous Metal Import and Export Corporation before Oct 2000, and thereafter has been subordinated to Xinjiang Non-Ferrous Metal Industry (Group) Ltd due to the national reform, and now is the main power for the foreign trade among the Group.
The former of Xinjiang Non-Ferrous Metal Industry (Group) Ltd is Xinjiang Non-Ferrous Metal Industrial Company which was founded in Dec 1950 and was called Sino-Soviet Union Non-Ferrous and Rare Metals Company.,Ltd, one of the earliest Sino-Foreign Joint-Venture enterprises after the founding of People¡¯s Republic of China. Xinjiang Non-Ferrous Metal Industry (Group) Ltd is one of the 30 industrial enterprises which are specially supported by Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region and it plays a very important role in the process of the Autonomous Region¡¯s strategy on converting the superior resource and pushing the industrialization. Xinjiang Non-Ferrous Metal Industry (Group) Ltd is a diversified enterprise, centering on the production and development of Non-Ferrous metal, rare metal and Gold, integrating of geology, mining, ore dressing, metallurgy, science and research, design, building and mounting, machinery process, transportation and storing, centralized heat feeding, real estate development, house management and so on. At present it owns the biggest rare metal mining and ore dressing enterprises and the most advanced production process for rare metal mining and dressing in China, as well as the most advanced metallurgical process for series lithium salts which is in the leading position in the domestic field. Meanwhile, it owns the biggest Gold mining and dressing enterprise among the west of China, and the second largest Copper and Nickel base as well as the hydrometallurgical technology.
